John Mathious is a retired business manager who enjoyed an exciting career with two multi-national corporations.  He has several certifications, including an advanced degree in business.  John and his wife Ann are long time residents of New Jersey; currently living in rural Sussex County which provides countless painting opportunities.

Mathious usually works in oils and watercolors with focus on landscapes.  John, for the most part, is self-taught.  He does, however, routinely attend art classes at the local community college and workshops with seasoned artists.

John started to show his work recently and is winning awards in both oils and watercolors.  He is a member of The Sussex County Art Society, The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council, and The Philadelphia Watercolor Society.
